Preparations are under way for the 12th Busan International Film 
Festival which will kick off on Oct. 4. This year's event will feature 
a record 274 films from 64 countries, solidifying its position as the 
hub of Asian cinema.

A massive 8.4-magnitude quake struck about 100 km off Sumatra 
Island in Indonesia late last night. A tsunami warning was issued 
for the Indian Ocean, sparking widespread panic as thousands 
of residents fled to higher ground.
