President Roh Moo-hyun's former chief secretary of policy planning 
is under investigation for his possible abuse of authority to protect 
and sponsor his  romantic partner, a 35-year-old woman accused of
misrepresenting her academic career.
Byeon Yang-kyoon, who resigned from Cheong Wa Dae Monday, was
banned from leaving the country until the completion of the ongoing probe.

Amidst low ratings and an unforgiving opposition party, Prime Minister
Shingo Abe is stepping down. His inabillity to contine support for the
US in the Mideast was the final straw.

아베가 미국의 중동문제를 계속 지원하지 않은 것이 큰 문제였다고 합니다.

서울에만 포장마차 및 노점상이 약 15,000개가 있다고 한다. 
There are as many as 15,000 street bars and other street vendors 
in Seoul alone.
 
이중 불법 포장마차에 대한 단속이 강화되고 있음에도 포장마차 증가 추세는 
멈추지 않고 있다. 
Crackdowns on illegal street stands selling alcohol have been beefed up, 
but the number of these street vendors is still on the rise. 
 
그렇다면 무조건 단속만 할 것이 아니라 지정장소에 포장마차를 열 수 
있도록 허가를 하는 것은 어떨까? 
If so, instead of simply clamping down on such vendors, how about 
establishing designated zones for them? 
 
그렇게 하면 서울 밤거리 문화 대표하는 관광상품으로 발전시킬 수도 
있을 것이다. 
That may transform them into tourist attractions possibly making them 
a feature of Seoul’s nightlife. 
 
무분별한 포장마차의 난립은 분명 문제이지만 생각을 약간만 바꾼다면, 
우리의 수도인 서울을 알리는 좋은 계기가 될 수도 있다고 생각한다. 
The rampant spread of illegal tent bars on wheels is indeed a problem, 
but by being a little creative, they may give us a chance to promote our 
capital.

Biting Off More Than You Can Chew 
( taking on a challenge that is too big ... ) 
 
"biting off more than you can chew"
To take on a responsibility which is too large for you to manage is biting 
off more than you can chew. 

Example: "I thought I could finish this report within 
a month, but I bit off more than I could chew." 

When eating food, you first bite off a piece, then chew it, 
and swallow it. If you bite off more than you can chew, 
you have taken a bite so large that you are not able chew it. 

Example: "I went skiing last weekend and I went down 
the most difficult hill first. I bit off more than I could chew." 
To bite off more than you can chew is to take on 
a challenge that is too big for you to accomplish. 

Example: "I want you to think carefully about how many 
people you need for this project. Be sure not to 
bite off more than you can chew."
