Young South Korean athletes cleaned up in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, 
which concluded in Singapore yesterday. 
The team won 11 gold medals and 17 medals overall- mostly in its standby events, 
taekwondo, judo, shooting, and archery. 
However, a couple of golds seemed to have come out of nowhere. 
Swimmer Chang Gyu-cheol mustered up a gold and a silver, 
and Kim Dae-beom took Korea's first-ever gold in modern pentathlon. 
The team's result in Singapore shows great promise for the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

우리나라 청소년 선수들이 어제 싱가포르에서 막을 내린 
제1회 유스올림픽 참가를 무사히 마무리했습니다.
한국 팀은 11개의 금메달 포함 총 17개의 메달을 획득했고 
그 대부분이 효자종목인 태권도, 유도, 사격, 궁도였습니다.
그러나 일부 금메달은 예상밖의(기대이상의) 수확이었는데요, 
장규철 선수가 수영에서 금메달 1개와 은메달 1개를, 그리고 김대범 선수는 우리나라 최초로 
근대5종 경기에서 금메달을 따낸 것입니다.
우리 대표팀의 이와 같은 성적은 2012년 런던 하계올림픽에서의 전망을 밝게 했습니다.
