Many English acronyms that have become international household names may be pulled 
from the airwaves in China.
The Chinese government notified major broadcasters in the country that they should 
steer clear of English acronyms, stating that their overuse could affect 
their native language’s purity.
The restriction will affect not just well-known acronyms in the sports world, 
like NBA and F1, but also acronyms in economics and politics, such as GDP, CPI, and WTO.

이제 중국 대륙의 TV에서 많은 영어 축약어들을 들을 수 없게 됐습니다.
중국 정부 당국이 약어의 지나친 사용이 중국어의 순수성을 훼손 한다는 이유로 
주요 방송국에 영어 축약어를 사용하지 말라고 지침을 내렸기 때문인데요,
금지 대상에는 NBA, F1 같은 스포츠 용어뿐만 아니라, GDP, CPI, WTO 등과 같은 
경제, 정치 용어도 포함되어 있다고 합니다.
